INGREDIENTS

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup leftover brisket juices
  • 24 oz stewed tomatoes
  • 14 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 can chilies
  • 1 can beer
  • 2 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. cumin
  • 1 tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 tbsp. black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 1.5 lbs. leftover brisket, grilled and chopped
  • 1 can black beans (optional)
  • hot dogs
  • jalapeños, chopped
  • cheddar cheese, shredded

DIRECTIONS

  1. Chop the onion, green pepper and garlic.

  2. Heat a Dutch oven over medium heat and add in the chopped onion, green pepper and garlic. Sauté for 5 minutes.

  3. Add 1 cup of leftover brisket juices to the Dutch oven.

  4. Pour in the stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, chillies and beer into the Dutch oven. Stir to combine.

  5. Add in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and salt. Stir to combine.

  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 15 minutes.

  7. Grill the leftover brisket over hot coals and chop it up.

  8. Add the chopped brisket and black beans (if using) to the Dutch oven. Simmer on low for 10-15 minutes.

  9. Score hot dogs with a knife and grill them over direct coals.

  10. Once the hot dogs are cooked, assemble chili dog with the grilled hot dog, brisket chili, chopped jalapeños and cheddar cheese.

  11. Put the assembled chili dogs on the griddle or back on the Nomad for 3 minutes to melt the cheese.

  12. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

You can also add in other vegetables such as mushrooms or zucchini to make it even more flavorful. If you prefer a spicier dish, feel free to add more chili powder or jalapeños.
