One-pot meals are popular because they are easy to execute, and the recipe turns out very flavorful. Using only one pot lets each ingredient marinate in the seasonings and flavors of all ingredients, which creates a flavorful meal.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1 cup cooked and sliced sausage
  • 2 thinly sliced chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 4 cups cooked penne pasta
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat your olive oil over high heat in a large pot.

  2. Add the chopped garlic, sliced sausage, and chicken into the pot. Cook until the garlic begins to brown and the chicken is no longer pink.

  3. Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning over the mixture. Stir until the sausage and chicken are coated evenly with seasoning.

  4. Toss in the heavy cream. Bring to a boil.

  5. Add in the cooked pasta. Stir until thoroughly combined.

  6. Finish it off with parmesan cheese and parsley. Stir until the cheese fully melts and the mixture is coated in the thickened sauce.

  7. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

You can make the cajun seasoning on your own if you’d like! This way you can control the amount of spice in it. We would recommend using:

  • 2 tsp each smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder

  • 1 tsp salt & pepper

  • 1/2 cayenne pepper

  • 1/2 tbsp garlic herb blend seasoning

This recipe makes about four servings, so if you’d like to make more, feel free to double or even triple the ingredients. Then, cook according to the same method. Try this recipe out today!
